This class helps prepare parents for emergencies that may occur in baby’s first year. Along with car seat safety and basic baby proofing, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries such as bruises, bites, bleeding, burns, poisonings, drowning and falls. Students will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant. Grandparents and other caregivers are welcome to attend.

This class will be at Rose Medical Center in Goodstein Room 3 of the Physician’s Office Building located at 4500 East 9th Ave., Denver, CO 80220.

The Physician’s Office Building is located on the southeast corner of 9th Avenue and Clermont Street. Goodstein Room 3 is located on lower level of the Physician’s Office Building. Parking is available in the parking garage free of charge or at the meters. The meters are free after 6:00 PM.

This course is for expectant parents and caregivers dedicated to putting safety first. The course will provide you with vital information on infant CPR and choking, baby proofing your home, basic first aid and child passenger safety. 

This class is $50.00 per person/couple. Only the mother-to-be needs to be be registered.

This class will be held at Sky Ridge Medical Center in the Garden Level Auditorium located at 10101 RidgeGate Pkwy, Lone Tree, CO 80124 at I-25 and Lincoln.

When you arrive, please park at the main entrance to the hospital. After entering, you may take the stairs just south of the information desk to the Garden Level Café or use the elevators. Once in the Café, please take the hallway to the right of Human Resources. This hallway leads to our Classroom, Auditorium and Administrative Boardroom.

If we need to cancel a class, we will notify you in advance. In the event of inclement weather, please call the hospital at 720-225-1000 at lease one hour before the class is scheduled.
 

Refunds are made on a limited basis; please call 720-225-BABY at least five days prior to the start of a class to receive a refund.

Please bring a snack, drink, two pillows and a blanket or mat for you comfort. There will be a short lunch break. Feel free to bring a lunch or purchase lunch in the cafeteria.

Becoming a New Dad is exciting in so many ways, but it can also be overwhelming at times. Boot Camp for New Dads is a highly successful program that prepares Men to become Fathers with confidence. This powerful workshop features veteran Dads that speak frankly about their prospective in parenting adventures.

Topics covered include: troubleshooter’s guide to crying babies, caring for new Moms, birth and bonding, the postpartum experience, and balancing family and career.

This class is best taken between 28 – 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Families that register for this class will typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn, and Infant Safety.

There is a $40.00 fee for this class. 

This class will be held at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in the Hummingbird Conference Room located at 2001 North High St., Denver, CO 80218.

This class will provide information that will create a strong foundation for successful breastfeeding. Breastfeeding Basics is designed to offer a safe setting to discuss breastfeeding education and concerns for both the breastfeeding woman and her partner. Participants will have a good understanding of milk production and general anatomy, positioning and latch, as well as collection and proper storage of breast milk. Identifying common problems such as plugged ducts, mastitis and increasing your milk supply will also be addressed. A list of community resources will be available to support you upon your return home.

This class is best taken between 30 – 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Families that register for this class typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn, Childbirth Preparation, and Infant Safety.

This class is for women only as some women are more comfortable discussing breastfeeding only in the presence of other women. 

 

This class will be held at Sky Ridge Medical Center in the Garden Level Administrative Boardroom located at 10101 RidgeGate Pkwy, Lone Tree, CO 80124 at I-25 & Lincoln.

When you arrive, please park at the main entrance to the hospital. After entering, you may take the stairs just south of the information desk to the Garden Level Café or use the elevators. Once in the Café please take the hallway to the right of Human Resources. This hallway leads to our Classroom, Auditorium and the Administrative Boardroom.

The decision to breastfeed your newborn impacts the whole family. This class is intended to set the stage for a positive and rewarding experience. In addition to explaining lactation, the class explores:

  • How to prepare for returning to the workplace
  • The proper collection and storage and breast milk
  • Tips on proper nutrition and how to maintain your milk supply
  • The benefits of breastfeeding
  • Troubleshooting
  • Developing a breastfeeding support system

This class will be held in Meeting Room 1 at The Medical Center of Aurora located at 1501 South Potomac St, Aurora, CO 80012.

Enter the hospital through the main entrance doors. Classes will be held in meeting room number 1 which is located in the hallway to the left of the coffee kiosk. If you need assistance locating the room ask the concierge located in the lobby.

Please bring a snack. 

In case of bad weather, please call the hospital’s main switchboard at 303-695-2600 at least one hour before your class for possible cancellation information.

We understand that certain circumstances may arise that will inhibit your attendance. If you need to cancel or change your class registration, please call us at 303-873-0630 as soon as possible. Childbirth Express

This one-time childbirth preparation course is intended for those who are unable to attend the longer series, as a refresher class, or when one partner has not had a baby. The class topics are the same as the Childbirth Preparation Series except condensed; Cesarean birth and the postpartum period are covered only briefly, and relaxation/breathing techniques are explained, but there is limited time to practice. This is a great refresher class for parents who have already had a baby. 

Please bring 2 bed pillows, and wear comfortable clothes as you will be learning some exercises for comfort.

An OB Hospital Orientation Tour is offered following the class.

Each series is a comprehensive 12-hour course offered during the evening for four weeks. These classes focus on five aspects of the birthing process: phases of labor and delivery, comfort strategies, medical procedures, breathing and relaxation conditioning, and the postpartum period. Each series includes a variety of childbirth videos and written materials. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and interact with other class participants. A tour of the Hospital and OB Unit will be included on the last day of each session.

Have you completed the “DARE to Prepare” program and now you are ready to quit?  “DARE to Be a Non-Smoker” is designed for you!  This program picks up with quit day and leads you through the first stages of being a non-smoker.  Just like “DARE to Prepare”, this physician-reviewed program is based on the latest research and is facilitated by caring, trained Respiratory Care Professionals from Swedish Medical Center.    “DARE to Be a Non-Smoker” helps you fine tune your quit plan and deal with some the hurdles you face as a new non-smoker.  This is Part 2 of the bigger “Smoking – DARE to Quit” program. This is the next step to helping you reach your goal of being a non-smoker.

The cost for this class is $40.00.

Completion of DARE to Quit Part 1 is required prior to attending Part 2.  Smoking is not permitted during sessions, allowing an opportunity to practice smoke-free skills prior to quit day.  Participant Notebooks are provided and need to be brought to each session.  Sessions typically begin the Third Tuesday of each month and are 2 consecutive Tuesdays, but may be adjusted due to holidays.
 

Cancellation Policy – course fees will be refunded for cancellations more than 48 hours prior to beginning of first class. There are no refunds for missed classes.

Rose Medical Center is very proud to be the only hospital in Denver offering a class on HypnoBirthing, which is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relating and stress-free birth experience.  This program is taught by a HypnoBirthing certified instructor that teaches you, along with your birthing companion, how to call upon your body’s own natural relaxant and thus lesson, or event eliminate, discomfort and the need for medication.  Through self-hypnosis, special breathing and visualization, HypnoBirthing teaches you how to trust your body and work with it. 

HealthONE recommends that all childbirth classes are completed by the mother’s 36th week of pregnancy. 

This class includes a tour of the Rose Birthing Units.  Please call 303-320-ROSE (7673) to register.

Sessions Required for the Event

This class will be held in the Goodstein Room 3 located in the lower level of Rose Medical Center Physician's Office Building. The address is 4500 E. 9th Avenue, Denver, CO 80220.The building is located on the SE corner of 9th Avenue and Clermont Street.

This is a 5-week series class that will meet every Monday on 01/08/02018, 01/15/2018, 01/22/2018, 01/29/2018, and 02/05/2018.

Participants may park in the parking garage free of charge or at the parking meters. Meters are free after 6PM.

This class helps parents set realistic expectations for their baby’s first weeks and months by providing information and time for hands-on practice. Topics covered include normal newborn appearance at delivery, newborn development, what to buy for baby, choosing a doctor, illness, travel, child care, feeding choices, sleeping, crying, diapering, bathing and baby blues. Parents will take home many helpful handouts to reference after baby comes home. This class does not cover infant CPR.

The infant care class will take place in the Pathology Conference Room in the Rose Medical Center located at 4567 E. 9th Avenue, Denver, CO 80220.

Enter main entrance to hospital, take main elevators down one level, exit elevators and go to your left. Follow the signage down the hall to the classroom. Attendees may park in the parking garage free of charge or at the parking meters. Meters are free after 6 PM.

Cancellations due to early delivery or bed rest will receive a full refund. Cancellations for any other reason will be charged a $25 cancellation fee, unless you rescheduled your class for a later date. Any requests(Cancellation or rescheduling) made after the class start date will be reviewed on a case by case scenario and may be subject to a $25 fee.

Setting realistic expectations for your baby’s first months is important. During this class, you will discover the answers to the most common questions new parents have about baby care and the first few weeks at home.

There is a fee of $40.00 per person or couple. Only the mother-to-be needs to be be registered.

 

This class will be held at Sky Ridge Medical Center in the Garden Level Auditorium located at 10101 RidgeGate Pkwy., Lone Tree, CO 80124, at I-25 and Lincoln.

When you arrive, please park at the main entrance to the hospital. After entering, you may take the stairs just south of the information desk to the Garden Level Café, or use the elevators. Once in the Café, please take the hallway to the right of Human Resources. This hallway leads to our Classroom, Auditorium and
Administrative Boardroom.

If we need to cancel a class, we will notify you in advance. In the event of inclement weather, please call the hospital at 720-225-1000 at least one hour before the class is scheduled.

This will be one of the most important classes you can take as a parent. This class covers crucial information such as infant CPR and choking, childproofing your home, basic first aid and accident prevention, basic car seat safety and more. This class is also highly recommended for Grandparents and caregivers.

This class is best taken between 32 – 38 weeks. It can also be taken after the birth of your baby.

Families that register for this class typically register for Baby 101: Understanding Your Newborn.

This class will be held at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in the Jack Chang Conference Room located at 2001 North High St., Denver, CO.

When you arrive, please park in the parking garage located across the driveway from the RMHC entrance. After entering RMHC, you may take the stairs or the D elevators to the second floor. The Jack Chang Conference Room is located off of the waiting area.

Notification of cancellation must be received at least 7 days (not including the class date) prior to the start date of the class. If cancellation or change is requested less than 7 days (not including the class date) prior, no refund will be given. (Exceptions can be made due to early delivery of their baby or mother being in the hospital)

Joint Replacement Surgery Class

Do you have a total joint replacement surgery scheduled? Take our one-hour pre-operative class to learn about how to prepare for your procedure, what to expect after surgery and things you need to do to get ready for your return home. Research has shown that people who know what to expect have less anxiety and a shorter stay in the hospital.

Topics we will cover in the class include pre-surgery exercises, what to take to the hospital, what you can expect during your hospital stay, pain management, after-surgery nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, precautions/limitations after surgery, discharge needs, recommended equipment and home safety.
 

This class will be held at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in the 7th Floor Conference Room located at 1719 East 19th Ave., Denver, CO 80218.

This class is a four-week series for families who desire an unmediated hospital birth experience. Expectant parents will learn the normal physiological stages of late pregnancy, labor, birth and the very first hours postpartum. Each class includes pregnancy exercises to help prepare the body and mind as well as hands on practice and relaxation techniques that can be used for natural pain relief during labor. Variations in labor will be discussed and techniques practiced, helping parents feel prepared to handle unexpected circumstances including back labor long labors and inductions. Breastfeeding, postpartum and newborn care will not be covered. This class is taught by a nationally certified instructor with extensive natural childbirth experience within the hospital setting.

There is a fee of $75.00 per person or couple. Only the mother-to-be needs to be be registered.
